| Feds Post More MU Comments Six weeks after posting an initial batch of 24 public comments on the proposed meaningful use rule on a government Web site for public viewing, the Department of Health and Human Services has posted another 83 comments. The comment period ends on March 15. Here's a sample of some of the new comments: Publ.Date : March 9, 2010 Study to Track PHR Data The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will award grants totaling $2.4 million to five teams to assess the potential of using consumer technologies, such as personal health records, smart phones and sensors, to record "observations of daily living" to help patients and physicians better manage chronic conditions. Publ.Date : March 10, 2010 VA, DoD Expand Data Sharing Pilots The Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs are expanding to the Tidewater area of southeast Virginia pilot tests to share patient data among their information systems. Publ.Date : March 10, 2010 ONC Publishes EHR Certification Rule The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has officially published a proposed rule establishing two certification programs--one temporary and the other permanent--to test and certify electronic health records.
